Transportation to Airport from Alexandria City Center
Borg El Arab Airport
The easiest ways to get to Borg El Arab International Airport from Alexandria city center are to take a taxi, use hotel shuttle service or rent a car. Since the traffic in Alexandria can be very heavy, you have to be careful and take the road a bit earlier in order not to miss your flight.

Borg El Arab International Airport, which previously offered service for domestic flights and cargo aircrafts, has been undertaking airline traffic of Alexandria and Nile Delta since 2013.
In addition to the airplanes flying from Turkey, Central Asia and North Africa, cargo aircrafts also land at Borg El Arab Airport. The airport, which is located 40 km of Alexandria city center, has all fundamental facilities despite of not being a large airport. At the airport, there are many facilities such as a lounge, duty-free shop, various stores selling souvenirs and clothes and a few cafes.
El Nouzha Airport
In order to get directly to El Nouzha Airport, which is only seven kilometers from the city center of Alexandria, you have to prefer private means of transportation as there are no direct means of public transportation. Therefore, you have to either take a taxi or use the transfer service of your hotel.

You can use the taxi to get directly from Alexandria city center, 7 seven kilometers from El Nouzha Airport, but remember that no flights are operated to this airport as of 2017. El Nouzha International Airport, located in Alexandria, Egypt, served a total of over 1 million passengers in 2009. El Nouzha Airport, located seven kilometers south east of Alexandria city center, is closed since 2010, so all flights to and from here are routed to the Borg El Arab Airport, which is 40 kilometers southwest of Alexandria and has been the main airport of Alexandria since 2011. Canberra city center is very close to the airport and can be reached in about 10 minutes by taxi, rental car or luxury transfer. Shuttle buses offer more economical transportation but they serve only during the day. The closest bus stop is 2.3 kilometers from the airport.
Car Rental
At the airport there are seven different car rental companies, serving at the arrival terminal, luggage delivery area. To go to the city center, turn right at the airport exit, and whichever direction you choose at the crossroads, you can easily reach the center in about 10 minutes by following the signs to the city center.
Taxi / Metro
The taxi stands are at a short walk distance from the luggage delivery area. The taxis are picking up their passengers a covered place to protect them from hot and cold weather and rains. The cost of transport to the city center by taxi is 48 Dollars on weekdays between 06:00 and 21:00, weekends, and 54 Dollars on holidays and during the night.
Shuttle
From the airport you can take the shuttle bus, The Airport Express, to Canberra city center, Russle, National Convention Center, London Circuit and YHA areas. The buses are waiting at the exit of the arrival terminal.
The one way ticket is 12 Dollars but if you want to use The Airport Express buses on your return journey you can get a round trip ticket by paying 20 Dollars. You can get your ticket from the bus driver or from the 'Customer Service' office directly opposite the bus stop. Please note that The Airport Express buses do not serve on public holidays.
Limousine / Minivan
For the passengers who are looking for comfort, there are 20 different companies in the airport providing transfer services with luxury cars, minivans and limousines. If you want to go to the city center with such a vehicle, you should definitely book in advance. Your driver will meet you at the terminal.
