About Ardmore
Ardmore is a small city in Oklahoma, United States, with a population of 35 thousand people. It is located to the south of Oklahoma City and to the north of Dallas, situated in the middle of these two important cities. Both cities can be reached by Ardmore using the highway; it takes about 1-½ hours. With a small-town atmosphere Ardmore stands out for its outdoor events. Located in the city, Lake Murray, Lake of the Arbuckles, and Lake Texoma feature many activities such as watersports, camping, boating, mountain biking, and more. In addition, the spectacular natural beauty of Turner Falls Park and its waterfall and the swimming area created by that waterfall provides a blissful relaxation area. Oklahoma’s first national park, Chickasaw State Park, is also located in Ardmore.
This is another natural park in the area, which you can explore by car or bike and enjoy canoeing, fishing, camping, or bird watching. The waterpark in Ardmore is particularly fun for families with children. Among other places to visit are the Greater Southwest Historical Museum, which sheds light on the history of Oklahoma and the Tucker Tower Nature Center, featuring displays of area wildlife. The city has two airports. The Ardmore Downtown Executive Airport is to the southeast of the city center, 2 km away.
