About Luanda
Known as the largest city and the capital of Angola, Luanda has to coast on the Atlantic Ocean. The city, which has commercial and administrative functions, has a significant geopolitical position because it is also a port city. The city, which was founded by the Portuguese explorer Paulo Dias Novais, is divided into two divisions named as Baixa and Cidade Alta. Steppe (semi-arid) climate is effective in Luanda. You can easily get to Luanda city center from Quatro de Fevereiro Airport by taxi or bus. You can rent a car at the airport if you need a vehicle for your entire stay.
Car Rental
Eight separate car rental companies, including Sixt, Budget and Europcar, serve at the airport. Renting a car in Luanda costs a bit. Prices start at 330 Turkish liras per day. It takes less than half an hour to get from Otomobille airport to the city center. You can reach the city center by driving about 10 kilometers after connecting to Deolinda Rodrigues Road, following the city center signs.
Taxi
At the exit of the terminal building you can see the airport taxis serving with a fleet of 150 vehicles. It is possible to reach the city center by taxi within 20 - 25 minutes in normal traffic conditions. If you do not have local currency Kwanza, you can pay in US dollars.
