About Lugano
Lugano is located on the shore of Lake Lugano, on the border of Switzerland. The city is part of the Canton of Ticino. Lugano, Switzerland’s ninth largest city, is the largest city in the Canton of Ticino. According to historical documents dating back to 804, the original name of the city was ‘Luanasco.’ The first historical document in which the city is referred to by today’s name was in the year 1189. Lugano Airport
Lugano Airport, also known as Lugano-Agno Airport, is the central airport of Agno, Bioggio, Muzzano, Milan and Lugano settlements in Switzerland and it is located 80 kilometers north of Milan and 4 kilometers west of Lugano city center. Once you arrive at Lugano-Agno Airport, you can reach the city center taking public transportation such as train and bus, as well as you may prefer private transportation alternatives.
