Turbo is a natural harbor town on the north-west of Colombia. Here, besides commercial activities, passenger transportation is also carried out. Trips to Capurgana are organized every day by boats from Turbo. The ticket costs 55.000 Colombian dollars.

The city has a tropical savanna climate. The average temperature throughout the year is 26 - 27 degrees Celsius. Although Turbo is located on a geographical area where receives plenty of precipitation all year round, the best time to visit the city is between January and March, when rainfall is least.

Motorcycle taxis are used extensively in urban transportation. Because it is both practical and fast and affordable, it is especially preferred by tourists. However, since there is no clear tariff for the fare, it is advised to negotiate about the destination and the cost for it with the driver in advance.

Turbo has a beach located just a 15 minute walk away from the city center. Although it is not highly preferred to swim, the beach offers an ideal setting to sit in the seaside bars and watch a beautiful sunset view. Overall, Turbo is a very quiet port town and does not offer much activity.
