About Finland

Situated on the coast of the Baltic Sea, Finland is a Nordic country in Northern Europe. It has borders with Sweden to the northwest, Russia to the east, Norway to the north, and the Gulf of Finland to the south.
The official languages of Finland are Finnish and Swedish, the population is approximately 5.5 million, and the country has made significant progress in security, industry, and education, becoming one of the strongest economies in the world.
As a member of the European Union, Finland conducts a large part of its trade with EU member states. The country also includes the Åland Islands, and due to its proximity to the polar regions, Finland has a harsh climate. Much of the year is snowy with storms, and summers are shorter.
The capital of Finland, Helsinki, located on the coast of the Baltic Sea, is often referred to as the 'White City' due to its open and bright architectural style. The Helsinki Cathedral, an iconic symbol of the city, is designed to harmonize with this architectural theme, standing out with its pristine appearance.
For those interested in experiencing Finnish saunas, Helsinki offers numerous saunas, known as some of the best in the world. The city of Lapland, with its husky dogs and the mesmerizing northern lights, offers a unique experience to its visitors, especially at night.
Despite its challenging climate and natural conditions that limit social activities, there are notable events worth witnessing in Finland. The Laskiainen Festival, which celebrates the arrival of winter, encourages people to go out, engage in snowball fights, and turn adverse conditions into moments of joy. During the short summer months, the Juhannus Festival, held in cities along the coast, features DJs playing music and amateur dancers joining in, creating unforgettable moments for festival enthusiasts.
Finnish cuisine, characterized by seafood and a variety of bread, is an irresistible charm when blended with Russian and Swedish flavors. One of the most famous dishes in Finland is kalakukko, made from fish baked inside a loaf of bread.
