Pulu Keeling National Park is the island's most popular sightseeing spot. In addition, dried and fresh coconut production, fishing and agriculture are among the main economic activities of the islands.

In the archipelago where tropical climate dominates, there is wind and medium precipitation for nine months. Cocos Islands Airport is 6 kilometers north of the capital, West Island.
