About Mitiga
Situated in the north of Libya, Mitiga is known for its unique beauty and nature surrounded by deserts. Located about 10 kilometers from the capital, Tripoli, Mitiga is being used as an alternative to the airport in the capital. The region surrounded by palm trees has a hot and dry climate in most of the year. Breezes from the Mediterranean cool the heat a little bit. There are flights from Mitiga to many cities, especially the European and African capitals. Besides the capital Tripoli, cities such as Benghazi and Manga are also worth seeing in Libya.
Even though the Arabic inspiration is heavy in the city, it is possible to see the influence of the Europeans who settled here in the past. Red Castle, also known as Assai Al-Hamra, is among the first places to be seen in the capital city of Tripoli. You can also shop around the city's historic center, and find many things, including spices and handmade local souvenirs. The locals speak English especially in tourist centers, but you can still communicate more comfortably by walking around with a local guide or learning some Arabic before your arrival.
