About Preveza
Preveza is a gulf city on the Adriatic Sea coast in the north east of Greece. Part of Greece's first underwater tunnel is in Preveza.
The Nicopolis Museum is an extremely informative museum built into an ancient city. Especially the collection of mosaic that it hosts is interesting. Zalongo Mountain is one of the places that must be seen by visitors. To reach the summit and history of the mountain you need to climb 421 steps, but the history museum and the view are worth. There is also an amusement park in the city that is located right on the sea shore and hosts interesting shows. In Preveza you can ski in the river. It is very pleasant to ski under the shade of trees in cool and clear water.
Lefkada is an island town on the Adriatic Sea. There is also a private marina for yachts here. Sea tourism in the city is quite advanced. The city has extremely clear waters and the diving sport is quite advanced. You can rent a car in Lefkada, but it is common to rent bicycles or scooters. For those who prefer public transport, there is the alternative of buses.
Porto Katsiki is the most popular beach of the island. It is very pleasant to swim on this isolated beach, which resembles Caribbean. But if you bring a snorkel with you, your trip will be more meaningful. Mountain climbing, hiking and mountain biking are other activities that can be done in the city.
Preveza and Lefkada, which are very close to each other, are under the influence of Mediterranean climate. Hot and dry summers are followed by cold and rainy winter seasons. It is quite convenient to visit the city in springtime, the transition period between seasons. Fish restaurants are very common in these cities that are fed from the Adriatic Sea and are quite successful in this respect.
Aktion National Airport is seven kilometers to Preveza, and twenty kilometers to Lefkada. Despite being a small airport, it has the facilities and capabilities to serve both cities.
